Project/Mission Statement
overWELLmed is a work of interactive fiction told through memoir. The reader is invited to partake in the retelling of a coming-of-age story by interacting with the pages of the digital journal. The story becomes interactive through user input and immersive through visuals that expand beyond the page and onto the walls of the exhibition room. Reflection is used as a storytelling technique. Reminiscing is used as a mode of self care. The distinctive modus operandi raises an important question: where do we draw the line between memoir and fiction?
